Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
