One extended voyage circling the Land Down Under is being halted following the tragic passing of an elderly lady who was stranded by the cruise liner on a isolated island.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but separated from the party for a pause. The vessel departed without her and came back several hours later after the personnel realised the lady was unaccounted for.

An extensive hunt located her person the next day.

Authorities are examining the incident, in coordination with police and the official investigator.

The CEO of the shipping company announced that travelers and crew on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the remainder of the journey had been called off due to the "sad loss and previous mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he further stated that travelers would be given a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to organize the return journeys of the passengers via specially arranged planes".

Regulatory bodies also published an latest communication, and said they had "provided a order to the Commander" preventing any additional guests from boarding the vessel.

The spokesperson said that they would attend the vessel in the port city upon its arrival.

The ship initially left the Australian port on 24 October, and was just two days into the voyage at the time of the 80-year-old's passing. The remote island was the opening port on the journey.

Travelers on board - who typically pay large sums of dollars to participate in the expedition - were taken there for a daily excursion with the possibility of trekking or snorkelling.

Relatives Response

The offspring of the victim said that her relatives was "shocked and grieved that the vessel left the location after an organised tour without my parent".

Through her comments, she portrayed her mum as an "vigorous octogenarian" who was a participant of a hiking organization.

"Based on limited facts we have been told, it seems that there was a lapse of responsibility and common sense," she mentioned.
